Where: Gualala Arts Center
RSVP: The event is free.
Celebrate the Gualala River and connect with the people working to protect this vital community resource.
The event will feature a 2:00 PM panel discussion with scientists from Prunuske Chatham, Inc. (PCI) and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), who will present early design concepts aimed at improving habitat conditions in the Gualala River estuary. These proposals are the result of a collaborative planning effort funded by CDFW’s Fisheries Restoration Grant Program and developed in alignment with long-term ecological goals set by CDFW and NOAA Fisheries.
There will be a Q&A after the panel discussion. You can ask questions in person, or submit them online here.
In addition to the panel discussion, Restoring the River will include:
- Educational booths from state, federal, and local partners, including CDFW, The North Coast Regional Water Board, Friends of the Gualala River, the Gualala River Stream Team, the Gualala River Watershed Council, and more.
- Historic and current photos showcasing the Gualala River’s past and present
- Announcement and display of the Gualala River Community Photo Contest winners
- Light refreshments and opportunities to connect with those working to protect the river
