DESCRIPTION:In support of the Meadow as Muse exhibition\, we’re collaborating with Gualala Arts Center to celebrate the spring migration and local wildlife. \n8:00 – 11:00 AM • Morning Bird Walk\nat Gualala Point Regional Park Visitor Center and Mill Bend Preserve \nMeet at Gualala Point Regional Park Visitor Center for a relaxed\, all-levels walk with Dave Jensen (former Mendocino Audubon Society leader) through the meadows and into Mill Bend Preserve. Learn to spot birds\, listen for calls\, and enjoy the peaceful morning landscape. \n11:00 AM – 12:30 PM • Lunch\, Look & Learn\nat Mill Bend Preserve and Gualala Arts Center\n\nBring a picnic and explore at your own pace! Try out binoculars and spotting scopes\, discover which birds are here now\, and get creative building whimsical mechanical bird contraptions. \n2:00 – 3:00 PM • Live Raptor Experience\nat Gualala Arts Center \nNative Bird Connections brings live birds of prey for an up-close presentation on their behaviors\, habitats\, and role in our ecosystem.

DESCRIPTION:In support of the Meadow as Muse exhibition\, we’re collaborating with Gualala Arts Center for an enchanting evening exploring the moths of our coastal ecosystem — all ages and experience levels welcome! \n7:30 PM • Indoor Presentation\nat Gualala Arts Center \nEntomologist and Sea Ranch naturalist Larry French\, joined by colleagues from UC\, presents striking images\, specimens\, and insights into the remarkable moth species of our local coastline. \n9:00 – 11:00 PM • Nighttime Field Session\nat Mill Bend Preserve  \nHead into the meadow for a guided after-dark experience — observing and identifying live moths as they emerge. A hands-on contribution to local citizen-science efforts! \nBring a flashlight\, camera or smartphone\, and wear dark clothing. Free and open to all.
